There are two types of resin tiles on the market: **virgin ASA co-extruded resin tiles** and inferior resin tiles made from recycled materials.
✅ High-quality ASA synthetic resin tiles: The surface layer is a highly weather-resistant ASA engineering layer designed to withstand UV rays and resist aging, ensuring no significant fading for 10 years. The core layer is made of modified PVC, offering high toughness, hail impact resistance, B1-grade fire retardancy, and extremely low water absorption, with an inherent waterproof structure.
They are lightweight (approx. 5kg/m²), eliminating the need for additional roof truss reinforcement when converting flat roofs to pitched roofs on older buildings. They provide thermal and acoustic insulation; noise during rain is far lower than that of color steel tiles, and indoor temperatures remain cooler in summer.
Resistant to acids, alkalis, and salt spray, they are ideal for livestock farms, coastal factories, and chemical workshops.
❌ Low-cost recycled resin tiles: The ASA surface layer is extremely thin or non-existent. Made largely from recycled waste, they quickly chalk and fade under intense sunlight, become brittle in low temperatures, and are prone to cracking and leaking.
While they may seem cost-effective in the short term, they lead to maintenance headaches later on.

1. **Check the surface**: High-quality tiles have a uniform, smooth, and glossy finish; inferior tiles are rough and contain granules or black spots.
2. **Check the cross-section**: Co-extruded tiles clearly show the ASA weather-resistant film layer in the cross-section; tiles made from recycled materials show mixed colors throughout the body.
3. **Ask about the warranty**: Reputable manufacturers offer warranties and provide samples for testing.
